THE SWAMP TOUR

Riding through the swamp with your local native Cajun guide, Wendy Thibodeaux, who’s roots here date back to the seventeen hundreds. A true Cajun who loves the Swamp, and all its wildlife, and is steeped deep in Cajun culture. Wendy will take you on a journey through the swamp at Lake Martin.

Local flora

On a swamp tour with Louisiana Swamp tours, you will travel around 200 year old Cypress Trees, that have great character. The Cypress Trees on the swamp tour are draped with Spanish moss, and it is very pleasant to travel through. The Cypress Trees are green in the spring and turn orange in the fall. The Cypress Trees have roots called Cypress Knees. Some Cypress Knees protrude out of the water up to five feet high. That’s just some of the sights that you will see on a fully narrated swamp tour with Louisiana Swamp Tours. On our swamp tour there are also wild flowers, like the wild orchid, daisies, and trumpet vine, water hyacinth and the American lotus.

Wildlife

Wildlife that you may see on a swamp tour with Louisiana Swamp Tours, are many different types of herons, hawks, ospreys, ibis, turtles, and, yes Alligators!

Come take a Swamp Tour with Louisiana Swamp Tours and feed your soul.
